Having squeezed himself with difficulty through the narrow aperture, he discovers in the interior, which is nearly choked up with rubbish, seven crosses of black wood and, in the rock forming the side of the cavern, are to be seen the same number of crosses, and an inscription, now nearly obliterated, vol.
